Before the resin

Consultation & Compliance

When a driveway project goes wrong, it’s rarely the resin. It’s the quote that grew, the SuDS issue that surfaced late, the dropped kerb nobody mentioned. This page covers the planning and paperwork that prevents all of it.

The problems that start on paper

A low quote that climbs, a permission nobody checked, work with no guarantee behind it — these are the failures that cost people most, and every one of them is avoidable before a spade goes in the ground. Here’s how we handle both halves.

Two things to get right

Surveys & Quotations

Knowing what you’ll actually pay.

  • Free, no-obligation site survey
  • Design consultation with real samples
  • Fixed, itemised written quote
  • Groundwork included, not bolted on later

This is how you avoid a quote that grows once work starts.

Regulatory & Warranty

Knowing you’re compliant and covered.

  • SuDS and planning permission advice
  • Dropped kerb application help
  • Written workmanship guarantee
  • Aftercare and ongoing support

This is how you avoid a nasty surprise after the work is done.

FAQs

Planning and paperwork

Why is one quote so much lower than the others?

Usually because it leaves something out — most often the groundwork or the drainage — which reappears later as an ‘extra’. An itemised quote lets you compare like for like, which is exactly why we itemise ours.

Will I need planning permission?

For a genuinely permeable resin driveway, usually not, because it manages water on site rather than shedding it onto the road. A non-permeable surface often does need it. We confirm for your specific situation at survey.

Do I need a dropped kerb?

If getting onto your drive means crossing a public pavement and there’s no existing crossing, yes — and it’s a separate application to the council, not something an installer can simply do. We flag it early and help you through it.

What happens if something goes wrong after the work?

You have a written workmanship guarantee and we remain contactable. A verbal assurance is worth very little when you actually need it, which is why ours is on paper.
