Does a resin bonded driveway need planning permission?
Because bonded is non-permeable, a driveway that drains to the public road can require planning permission. We plan drainage to a soakaway or permeable area so the surface manages water on your own land, which generally keeps it within permitted development. We confirm the position during your survey.
Is bonded better than bound for a driveway?
Neither is simply ‘better’ — they’re different. Bonded gives more grip and is great on slopes; bound is smoother and permeable. We recommend whichever suits your drive and tell you why.
Will the stones come loose under car tyres?
Not when installed properly. A keyed base, correct resin coverage and even broadcast lock the aggregate down. Loose stone is a sign of a rushed job, which our process is built to avoid.
Can you lay it over my old concrete drive?
Usually yes, if the concrete is structurally sound. Bonded overlays with minimal build-up. If the base is cracked or moving, we’ll explain what’s needed rather than bonding over a failing surface.
How long before I can drive on it?
