Most of the cost and upheaval of a new driveway is in the groundwork: the dig-out, the spoil, the base. If your existing concrete or tarmac is structurally sound, that work is effectively already there — so overlaying with resin gives you a brand-new surface while skipping the expensive part. The one rule is honesty about ‘sound’: we check properly, because overlaying a failing base just passes the failure up into the new surface.

How do you know if my base is sound enough?
We assess it for structural soundness, level and movement. Solid, stable concrete or tarmac is ideal; cracked, hollow or moving surfaces aren’t, and we’ll recommend a conversion instead.
Can you overlay block paving?
Sometimes — it has to be genuinely stable, as block movement can telegraph through. We may lay a binder layer first, or recommend lifting it. We’re honest about whether yours is suitable.
Will an overlay last as long as a new drive?
Over a genuinely sound base, yes — the resin surface itself is the same. The longevity depends on the base being sound, which is why we check it properly.
What about drainage over concrete?
Concrete isn’t permeable, so we design in falls and channel drainage to take the water the permeable resin lets through. Over a permeable base, water drains straight down.
