Two small details that decide whether a surface lasts
Get the drainage wrong and water pools on the surface or runs off where it shouldn’t. Get the edging wrong and the surface slumps, spreads or sheds at the perimeter. Both are easy to under-spec and both are expensive to put right after the event. We design drainage to suit the ground and levels, and set proper edge restraint, so the finished surface stays dry, contained and intact.

Drainage is site-specific. Where the ground drains well, a permeable build-up handles the water on its own. Where it doesn’t — clay soils, low spots, concrete bases — we add channel drainage to collect it or a soakaway to disperse it. We design for what the site actually needs.
Edging is the quiet workhorse: a solid restraint contains the surface so it can’t spread or slump at the edges, and frames the drive neatly. Whether you want a block-paving border or a discreet aluminium trim, the job is to hold the surface firmly.

Do I need drainage if my resin is permeable?
Often not — where the ground drains well, a permeable build-up handles the water itself. But on poorly draining ground, or over a concrete base, we add channels or a soakaway so water still has somewhere to go.
What's a soakaway for?
It disperses collected water into the ground where natural drainage is poor — a SUDS-friendly way to manage water on site rather than running it off.
Why does edging matter?
Edge restraint contains the surface so it can’t spread, slump or shed at the perimeter, and it frames the drive neatly. Without it, edges fail first.
Block paving or aluminium trim — which is better?
