Fix it, clean it, protect it

Resin Driveway Repair & Maintenance

A resin surface rarely needs replacing — it usually needs the right intervention. Whether yours is cracked, stained, faded or just tired, this page helps you work out whether you need a repair, a clean, or a protective treatment.

What’s actually wrong with your drive?

The right fix depends entirely on the problem. Structural faults need repair; surface grime needs cleaning; a sound-but-dulling surface needs protecting. Spending money on the wrong one is the most common mistake we see — so start by identifying which category you’re in.

Which do you need?

Repair

For structural faults in the surface itself.

  • Cracks, potholes or depressions
  • Loose or lifting aggregate
  • Faded, UV-damaged patches
  • Anything you can feel underfoot

Choose this if the surface is damaged, not just dirty.

Cleaning

For surfaces that are sound but grubby.

  • Moss, algae and green film
  • Oil, tyre and rubber marks
  • Chewing gum and ingrained dirt
  • General dulling and staining

Choose this if the surface is intact and the problem is on top of it.

Protective Treatments

For sound surfaces you want to keep that way.

  • Re-sealing a dulling surface
  • UV-stable topcoat to hold colour
  • Anti-slip coating for grip
  • Preventative, not corrective

Choose this if nothing is wrong yet and you want to keep it that way.

FAQs

Repair or replace?

How do I know if it’s repairable?

Most resin surfaces are. Localised cracking, potholes or loose aggregate can usually be repaired and colour-matched. Widespread failure across the whole surface normally points to a failing base beneath, which repair alone won’t fix.

Is cleaning enough, or do I need re-sealing?

If the surface is structurally sound and simply looks tired, a clean often transforms it. Re-sealing is worth it when the finish has genuinely dulled or you want to lock in the colour. We’ll tell you honestly which you need.

Why did my resin driveway fail so early?

Almost always the base, not the resin — inadequate sub-base, poor compaction, or skipped drainage. That’s why we assess what’s beneath before quoting a repair, rather than patching a symptom.

Will a repair be visible?

We colour-match to the existing blend, and on most surfaces a well-executed repair blends in closely. On a badly faded surface the contrast can show, which we’ll flag before starting.
